SCMAGLEV Preliminary Alternatives Screening Report Now Available!

We are pleased to announce that the Preliminary Alternatives Screening Report (PASR) has been finalized and posted under Reports. During the October 2017 Public Open Houses the SCMAGLEV Team presented possible routes between Washington, DC and Baltimore that could be advanced and studied in greater detail along with information on the No-Build Alternative. These preliminary results generated a number of questions and comments from residents, elected officials, and agency stakeholders. The now available final report considers input and feedback received along with recommendations on how the project should advance.

Here are a few highlights featured in the Report:

  • Screening Level 1 and Level 2 Results;
  • Summary of Public Comments;
  • Recommendation to Drop Alternative Alignment E1 (Amtrak Modified); and
  • Recommendation to Advance Two Alternative Alignments to be refined and studied further this year, J (BWP Modified-East) and J1 (BWP Modified-West), plus the No-Build Alternative.
